This community is great!

It is amazing to see how many people are working on blender. guru-level-blender-artists, great animators, serious accademic research and game designers, all together working hard to push the allready thrilling package to new frontiers.

The peach movie

seams to get up and running, the first models i got from there show how smooth character animation can be in blender, the rigging i saw made me humbly look forward for more, to get the dvd might be a great idea.

The python API

stabilized and got much better documentation than a view years ago. Also helpful scripts are being developed to do so many little tasks, some enhancements here , some help modelling there. Even complete physical simulations are coded and integrated.

The numpy integration from Theo de Ridder was one example of clever scripting. Tutorials and sample code is rising, so dive into this fantastic library!

Blender education

TOSMI reported their successfull activities (i was on one of their trainings); the blender certification programm looks like getting ready, will there be certified trainers in the next year ? For sure the amount and quality of documentation has rised alot in the last year; e.g. the new book essential blender (which i bought too) is much better to read than the older books.

These were great days for open source users, may their word be spread and the software continue to challenge the commercial competition!

On the pinboard you find more photos and videos of the suzanne award winners.
